Let's go 3D!
2010-08-09 02:48 PM
When your job involves designing things all day long what's the best way to relax?
That's right design something else!
Creating matte paintings leads into 3D design and these images were created using Vue a very powerful landscaping program.
We hope to offer more 3D work later in the year with images produced using 3DS Max. This is just a small taste of some 3D images we have created and more are on their way.
Forest Path
This one I liked a lot more, the forest path was created using a displacement map allowing more control over where the vegetation would appear.

I think this one is done.
Christmas 2009
We used this for our corporate Christmas card, we were so busy we only managed to send off a few dozen, next year we'll make sure every one receives one.

Summer Church
A rework of the winter scene with additional trees and flowers
This was based loosely on a Kinkade painting, with the concept of depicting an English village in the summertime.
An evening / sunset version was also created (see below)

This is an initial experiment with modeling and materials applications. All items were modeled with no stock content.
